I had zero interest in this game before I read spacebiff.com's review. I probably would have skipped over this review. But, now I'm looking forward to watching it at home.

Space Biff is my favourite review by the way. We agree on an awful lot, but not everything.
I generally prefer text to video or audio, and space Biff is far and away my favorite reviewer who writes.
I generally prefer text as well, as most video reviews talk in circles. I didn't start doing vid reviews because i was happy with the state of video reviewing, lets just say that :)And Dan is one of, if not the best written reviewer out there in my mind as well.
What is your review process?
I do find your reviews quite helpful, but I'm always curious how often the typical game gets played? And I've also been curious how long it takes to compress your review to three(ish) minutes? Especially for some of your more complicated games like mage knight or spirit island.
Games normally get around 5 plays, not all of which are multiplayer. Some can be solo or multi hand solo, but they always get some actual group play as well, which is followed by a group interview. My process is to get a blank table and set up the camera, then setup the game and take photos. Then think "what's the most important thing to say about this" then take photos of that, and then continue along, writing the script in my head while taking snaps. I then sit with the photos ive taken and turn that into a script, but i have a word limit for each section.
That is helpful. The word limit for each section explains how you keep it so short. Thanks for the reply.
I even have a physical template that has text boxes the exact right size. So if i go over the limit, i know immediately.
That is hilarious. What a great idea.
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
