Bit late to the party this week!
A few plays at home and at work:

Unfortunately not much, just a little game of #The Quacks of Quedlinburg and #Deep Sea Adventure. Both fun and light but not scratching that deep itch!

Castles of Mad King Ludwig x2, Monza x1, Ticket to Ride x2,
I am interested in Castles of Mad King Ludwig, do you enjoy it? It seems fairly light mechanically but there is a lot to remember with all the tiles.
We adore it. We’ve taught it to lots of people. The tiles tell you everything. No need to learn or memorize them. It’s got lots of depth with the auction system. And it plays well at all counts including solo. Love it.
Nice! I know it is highly regarded, it seems like in the middle of games I play, lighter fair with the wife and heavier stuff with the dudes.

I got a bit of solo gaming in this past week. I played:
#Feudum: the Game - been a while since I’ve gotten this to the table, and this play reminded me of 2 things:
#Pax Pamir (Second Edition) - One of my favorites, the solo mode is so good.
I have heard Feudum is a beast of a game, to play and to teach! How has your experience been?
GAH! #Pax Pamir (Second Edition) is my number one want right now, I am going to back it on March 10th so fast!
Yeah; as far as Feudum goes, there are a lot of little rules and exceptions. And there are some things I hate about the game - primarily the military service track. It’s terrible. I have a variant I’m working on to redo it.
But, in spite of all its questionable design choices, I still think it’s an amazing game. If you have a group that’s willing to stick through 2-3 games, it’s definitely worth it.
Pamir is my #1 game of 2019 and is in my top 3 of all time. I think it’s a masterpiece.
Definitely get the metal coins. They up the experience a ton.
Ya it seems like the core rules are a just a melting pot of edge cases lol. I love the art and all but it seems almost a chore!
Maaannnnn I was considering the metal coins...but you just confirmed it and hurt my wallet...
Yeah, I’m a software engineer by day and I absolutely love systems and rules haha. Like, one of my favorite parts of board games is learning the rules and seeing how everything works.
I would say that if that type of thing doesn’t really appeal to you, Feudum might not be for you.
Lol, you won’t regret the coins. Or the game (hopefully lol)!
I am a math guy myself, I love learning rules in games, I think Heavy Cardboard has scared me with Feudum though. The host has basically said he will never teach it again it was that much of a chore for him. I might look through some other avenues though to see if I can grasp it better.
Oh I know I will like the game for sure, I have watched and listened to as much content on the game as possible and just want more. Its a very enticing game and if I know I am going to love it, I want the best for my experience!
Feudum is on Tabletopia, so you could always give it a try there haha.
Right on haha.
I need to use that more often...

Do you only play pamir solo? I'm tentatively planning on backing it, but will probably only play it solo.
Yep, primarily solo. I’ve play ~15-20 times and it gets better every time.
I’ve only played multiplayer 3 times, but that was excellent as well.
I've never Kickstarted anything before, but there are two Kickstarters starting this month that I expect I will back. This is one of them. Since it will be a straight reprint I hope it will go fairly quickly.
I late pledged the first print run of Pamir and that’s the only thing I’ve ever backed. So glad I did though. It’s so great.
What’s the second thing you’re backing?
I want to see more details, including price, but I'm expecting to back #Pax Renaissance second edition.
Nice! I have yet to play a Pax game besides Pamir.
Feel free to call me stupid, but I haven't played any either. That being said I am sorta jumping in.
I preordered #Pax Emancipation from gamenerdz with the expectation of picking it up on my next trip to the states. I am sorta planning on Kickstarting #Pax Renaissance and #Pax Pamir (Second Edition). I imagine at some point I will also pick up #Pax Porfiriana, but I expect that one to be a little more available later on.
On the one hand I feel sorta stupid jumping in with both feet, without more experience with these games. But on the other hand, I love what these games are trying to do. And, with the need I have for games that travel well.... These big games in small boxes seem to be right what I'm looking for.

Played #Mysterium last night with the fam. We won, and it was a great game of head scratching haha

I’ve never played, but I’m glad you didn’t end up playing cards!
Me too haha Mysterium is fun, but I was hoping for something with a little more meat. Still, it was fun playing with everyone and that's what matters. Or so I hear haha

Several games of #JamSumo and a game of #Tumblin' Dice. All yesterday as I was under the weather most of the week.
I guess my brain was able to handle dexterity games just fine though.
Tumblin' Dice is so much fun!
Great Rolling Stones song, lol
