What games did you get to play over the holidays?

Supporter

I’m going though some holiday envy seeing what everyone else got for Christmas. So what did you get to play? I did at least get some gaming in and got some new ones played too!

Nothing yet, but I still have a week left of Christmas break. Plenty of time to get some in.

Oh... In that case,,, yes I do plan on playing some more games before new years.

Get it! Haha

The only gaming I did over the holidays was a bunch of Go Fish with my the year old son, and a two games of Forbidden Island, where my son also "played."

Nothing wrong with that!

Nope. Maybe not my preference...... But it is nice that he wants to play games with me.

Supporter11 months ago

Yes it is! Not something to take for granted

I try not to. But, sometimes it is nice when he doesn't feel like it.

How did you like COB?

Supporter11 months ago

I liked it. We learned and played it at the same time. It was simple enough to learn but I can see that it could almost be “figured out” at some point. It is quite dry on the theme so it would have to really grab my group or I can see it being one of those games that always is passed up for another. In the mean time, it was quite enjoyable.

Glad you liked it. I never really got around to that point, but I do recognize it as a good game, just one that I don't like.

FYI: It does play best with TWO. At 4 or even three I think it starts to break down some from its own weight. But at two you can be done in 45 minutes.

COB is a weird one for me. I like it and I don't. It is a fun puzzle, and I like the way the dice work in the game, but it is very dry. I usually don't mind dry games, but it has been hard for me to get COB back on the table due to the arid condition. I may actually enjoy the COB card game more, which is a decent port, but less of a time commitment. I think I need to play the full version again though and see if I feel differently.

I never played the card game.

After this play I’d be interested in checking out the card game at some point

How'd you like Captain Sonar? I absolutely love the game, although I think it does depend on who you're playing with.

We really liked it. Had two separate plays but didn’t go back to back. Too stressful! Still our groups really liked it and got into it.

I was in a tournament once, three games back-to-back-to-back. Talk about heart attack! haha

I want to play Azul and just one so bad! They look great!

Supporter11 months ago

I like how easy it is to attract new gamers with Azul's aesthetics haha. Just One gave lots of good laughs for our family over the Christmas break!

Yeah definitely, that’s one reason why I want to try it too. I bet!

Azul is great! I have yet to play Just One

Yeah that one looks like a great party game!

Most of my games until tonight were uno, skip-bo, and Agricola

Supporter11 months ago

Nothing wrong with that. SkipBo is a family favorite but for some reason we didn’t play that one at all.

I had actually never played it before! My wife got it for me for Christmas since she played it a lot growing up. I thought it was a great little game!
