I had my usual Thursday night gaming session plus a gaming convention this weekend so I did really well with the games! (For me anyway.)

Wow. What a great mix of games! I really like Roll player, Orleans and champions.
How is Teotihuacan? I have a painted Tzolkin, so haven't bought Teo yet.

Yeah, I got lucky. I don't normally get nearly that many in!
I really liked Teotihuacan. I've never played Tzolkin so I don't know how they relate to each other. I can say that I thought the interaction between where your pieces are on the board vs the actions you want to do vs the extra cost to take actions where other dice are made for some really crunchy thinking.
For me it had a great balance between strategic and tactical thinking and I am pretty sure I'm going to add it to my collection.
I've played Orleans quite a few times but found out that I have a LOT to learn as I got schooled quite hard. That's ok though, still had fun.
I picked up Champions of Midgard in an auction. Someone else there also got it so we had a game with some of his friends. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
It was my first play of Roll Player. It was a bit fiddly but I think I would play it ahead of Sagrada given the choice. Sagrada is fun but this adds a bit more to it putting it more in my sweet spot.
Thanks for your reply!

I'll be interviewing the artist behind Champions of Midgard soon. Let me know if you have questions for him that I might be able to include!
Thanks for the review. Very interesting. I have been intrigued. I think I'll wait to try it or find a used copy. It certainly seems like something I would like.
I bought Roll Player as a Sagrada fan. I feel they have different places at the table. Sagrada is better for new gamers and plays a bit shorter. I really am drawn to the theme of Roll Player since I am a regular D&D player. It adds a nice flavor.
Yeah, I do RPG's quite a bit myself so I enjoyed having a bit more theme to it.

On Friday I played Ice Cool with my kids, and then we had two friends over and we played Sheriff of Nottingham and Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game. On Saturday I was able to play Carcassonne with my parents and sister. All around a pretty good weekend for games.

I had plans to play Skull but I was with friends who also has a new child. Our two kids ended up taking over the night and we just played a bit of smash bros instead.

Played a couple solo games each of The Gallerist and Lisboa.
Actually have a game of The Gallerist setup right now - I am attempting to create an automa type solo variant for it. The official solo mode is quite good, but it's essentially a beat-your-own-score type mode. So, I want to create something with an automated opponent. We will see how it goes!

We played Terror In Meeple City (Cover Art May Vary), Las Vegas, and Codenames. We had non gamers, so that was the lineup.
The Codenames I have is a giant demonstration box with three lids and giant versions of Codenames, Pictures and duet. It also has a bunch of promos from about 8 other games. I found it buried in a game store near Yosemite. Pretty cool find.

Friday night did Blue Moon Legends and two plays of Spirits of The Wild Card Game. Sunday was an entire day of Gloomhaven. We completed three scenarios.
I'll actually be interviewing Alexandr soon, who did the character designs on Gloomhaven. Let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to pass onto him!
Thanks for the opportunity! I recently opened the Plague Herald. I am loving playing this character! It is my favorite so far (we still have 5 unopened). Where did he he get the inspiration for the race and what were some of the challenges he might have had implementing this race into the game?

We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
