Congrats on your first post!
I tend to like medium-heavy euros that take around 90 minutes.

Thank you Inf1n1ty! Like R0land above, is there a good medium-heavy euro you're fond of?

A couple that have been my favorites for a while are
Newer ones on my list are
Concordia I've played, that is a good one since I love the ancient history theme (it reminded me a bit of Civilization, one of my favorite games). The Mayan Calendar game I am going to have to check out since that is also a theme I would enjoy.

Yay to your first post! Love to see this site adding new people.
For me I'm pretty agnostic but I tend to prefer medium weight euros in the 2 hour range.

Thanks Roland! Euros are a good choice, I might go lighter but is there a game you have in mind that you really like?

I think my favourite euro would be Concordia on the medium side and Brass: Birmingham to go a bit heavier. They are both really great games that I would play anytime!
Another vote for Concordia! It is a great game so deserves more mention. I'm not familiar with Brass: Birmingham, I'll have to look that one up.

I have been really enjoying Deck builders for the last few years. There's a lot of fun ones like Dominion 2nd Edition, Ascension: Deckbuilding Game, and Tim Fowers Paperback - The Card Game.

I haven't even heard of it. I'll have to check it out! What do you like about it?

It's a cool game where you try to accumulate points based on your profession, you make a certain number of actions per turn to earn points and block opponents. I like it because the cards have a strategic component where you have to try to both block competitors and earn Victory Points. Check it out!

I love deck building games and wish I had more of them.
What are your favorites? I am liking The Quest for El Dorado as my favorite right now. I like the mix of board and cards over a strict card game like Dominion. I'd say my all time favorite is Ascension: Deckbuilding Game. I probably have a couple hundred plays on that (between phone and in person)
Ascension is a solid game (with lots of expansions!) I have to give a shout-out to Michael Gnade for Brass Empire (Mike did the Maximum Apocalypse series as well) his deckbuilding game has the added bonus of a battle feature that made this very interesting, plus for a steampunk themed game it was very cool.
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
