Kind of crazy that he even appeared in court.

As much as all of this baffles me, I'm happy that the designer stood her ground and that it will hopefully continue to shed more light on GBS' practices to even their non-board game followers

I'm amazed that GBS is surviving given their customer perspective. They are different, I'll give them that.

Yes. It's hard to believe that's possible in this day and age, but I guess that's the reality.

It is a marvel to me that they have "functioned" this long.

Their facebook page still has 200K+ followers. Their posts related to Unbroken have tons of comments left by people but it only displays 5-10 of the positive ones. Seems to invest in securing lots of popular IP's for their products. Since board games is just one part of their business model, most of their followers don't seem to be aware of all these issues surrounding Golden Bell Studios.

Wow. I didn't realize they were that big.

With a following like that (assuming those numbers aren't inflated), I would think they'd want to be more cautious in their business practices, but I guess not. Hopefully they'll steer clear of this industry in the future. But there have been instances where creators who already signed up to work with GBS understandably tried to hide that fact when running their Kickstarter.

Yes. I have seen a faq on a Kickstarter or two where one of the questions was whether or not the project was in any way connected with the studio.

For those who aren't aware of some of the past incidents with Golden Bell Studios (the articles below are related to the disaster involving Unbroken's Kickstarter:

Did these situations end similarly to the original post?

Unbroken is still a mess with lots of backers not having received their game, mostly on the european side I believe. The designer is still tied to GBS in terms of needing to work with them for the expansion. He ended up experiencing so much psychological strain from everything that it affected his personal life and his family. He will likely step away from this industry after everything is settled.
