Thanks for the link. This game keeps looking more and more interesting. Can't wait to see the finished product.

A very interesting read. It gave me a whole new perspective on how you can approach game design.

These diaries are always very interesting!

Wonderful insight. I’ll need to reference this for some new books to read. I mainly read science fiction and fantasy, but I love historical works as well. I love the insight he brings into his designs.

I find it interesting that he is influenced by the books he is reading. Its funny how much outside forces can play a role!

Love this diary.  I love Fantasy and SciFi novels and there are a few of his inspirations I haven't read yet so it looks like I'll be adding to my ever growing wish list.

Can't wait to read the next diary about the map.

If the Chronicles of Prydain are some you haven't read, you should. They are inspired by Welsh mythology, which is a underutilized source of inspiration.

I just added Chronicles of Prydain to my Goodread's list. Turns out a bunch of my friends and extended family have read it and loved it. My cousin mentioned she read it in college and loved it. I think I'll enjoy it. Thanks for the suggestion!

It is a pleasure to recommend for books to people.

It's one of my favorite things to do. Especially when I convert them to Brandon Sanderson's novels :)

Ahh man, I'd be tough to covert.  I tried so hard to like the first Stormlight Archive Novel.  I found it to be way to long and I just got tired and bored.  I know people love them so it's disappointing that I just couldn't keep going forward with it.

I can understand that. They're...hefty, to say the least. I'd read all his other stuff before I started Way of Kings, so I was already prepped and seasoned. And I'd read The Wheel of Time, and I figured if I can get through those (looking at you, middle books in the series), I can read anything :)

Nice.  I think maybe a lot of the long long Fantasy isn't for me.  I get tired.  That also happened with Game of Thrones.  I am currently in the middle of two long series in terms of number of books but not long books in general that I think still build a great world.  Discworld and the Rift War Saga.

I just saw something about the Rift War Saga this morning and added Magician Apprentice to my Goodreads. haha

I've wanted to start reading Discworld, but I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

Nice!  I am three (kind of four) books into Rift War.  I used this website to pick a reading order.  I'm going with Chronologically by Character as I've seen many say this is the best way to read it.

Sweet, I'll do it that way. I've heard great things. Thanks!

Enjoy.  I'm about to finish Book 2 in Discworld.  I was wary at first when I heard it was slight comedic but I actually love that aspect of it.  Quick and fun.

Glad to hear it. I could use some quicker books. I'm reading Sword of Shannara right now, and it's kind of a slog...haha

I haven’t read them.  For some reason I have this idea in my head that they are meant for a younger audience

Marshwiggle92 Supporter7 months ago | 1 point[-]

Oh. They are meant for a younger audience. But, when you are wanting a fun lighter read go for it. I think they are good, plus, it gives me good ideas to spice up the stories I tell my son.

I do think that good books for younger readers can remain fulfilling experiences all ones life.

Cool.  Might be something I read with my kids when they get a little.  Thanks for the insight

Can’t wait to read it

Cole is so great at story telling and explaining his thought process. It's been a joy to read about where Oath came from and how it's getting made.

I wish more designers did something like this, it really does bring in the magic of the process to a human and understandable level!
