Game of the Week (Carcassonne)

This is an automated weekly post to talk about the game of the week. It chooses a random game from the top 100 on the popularity charts to hopefully get the most discussion from people who've played it. What do you think about Carcassonne. Do you like it, own it, play it all the time, dislike, best strategies, or anything related to it?

I still haven't played this. Do you think this is a must play/have/experience?

I'm basically going through a list of gateways to play with my wife. Have played Love Letter: PremiumForbidden Island, Azul, and Santorini to date. All of them have been successful so far

It's a fine game and it's easy to see why it's so popular / a modern classic. However, I don't care to play it again or purchase it myself.

If you have a chance to play it, you should go for it, but it just wasn't for me.

It was one of the original tile laying games. There have been a lot more since. I prefer Between Two Cities or Isle of Skye for example.
