Very cool, especially enjoyed them explaining how they came to settle on the 'high concept' of the game

That was fast! I'll have to check it out later.
I love it! I actually added this in a comment on my post about the "first look," but that was buried of course. I'm liking what I'm reading. It's pretty clear that the designers/developers care a lot about the source material, so that's heartening. I'll probably end up getting the game. I'd love to be able to play a Dune game in an hour or two.
What are your thoughts so far?
Also, I listened to Space Cats & Peace Turtles Episode (Why You Should Play Dune) and I can't wait to bust it out (whenever that happens).
I loved the way they described the randomness of the map as almost like a player in itself. I feel like that fits so well with the Novel. Arrakis is a player you can't control but have to account for.
That's a good point! Between the storm and the spice blows and sandworms, the planet itself can do a lot to shape each game.
Which is dripping with theme.
Dripping - he gives water to the game!
I agree about being excited that they do care about tying it to the source material. I don't love the art on the character cards but it's not so bad I can't get over it.
I do like the combo of worker placement and deck building. I also enjoy multi purpose cards so that looks intriguing.
Yeah the movie based art is slightly disappointing but understandable. At least it's not movie stills.
Oh yeah. Honestly, I think it could totally take it off my wish list if it were stills.
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
