What are your plans for the weekend?

Supporter

My wife and I borrowed @trentellingsen's copy of #PARKS so I plan to bring it out and have my parents join in also. I hope it plays well with 4!

I also need to "prep" for a session of #Architects of the West Kingdom with my wife. I feel like SU&SD's recent video boosted up the morale of all teachers out there haha

My copy of #Root arrived as well. I need to take a look at the PNP for the bots so that my wife and I can have a fuller experience one of these days.

First day off after my 8-day stretch tomorrow. Hoping to play some more Terraforming Mars. I snuck out and bought the Venus Next expansion so now I’ll have two expansions to play with!

8 days! That must have been exhausting. Hope your weekend's been treating you well. Did you manage to sneak in some game time?

Supporter8 months ago

I played a game of TM with both expansions yesterday afternoon. I didn’t play very well and lost the solo mode. Looking forward to Outer Rim today.

Do the expansions all work together? I think there are quite a few for TM.

Supporter8 months ago

Yes, they all work together.

Nice! Do you plan to get them all?

Heading to a big gaming group locally this weekend at a guys really big house, should have like 30 people there and it's called Capricon. I am brining #Space Base and using the Commander Box to allow up to 7 people to play. I plan on using the SU&SD guidelines to teach people how to play it. And I look forward to playing #The Taverns of Tiefenthal that someone is bringing tonight and maybe some #Mystic Vale tomorrow as well.

That sounds fun, did this event happen already? Also, what was your impression of #The Taverns of Tiefenthal?

Went yesterday and had a blast. No one had #The Taverns of Tiefenthal so I haven't got to play it yet but I really want to. #Space Base went really well considering it was 7 players, but I think I want to remove the card that causes all opponents to lose victory points because that just wasn't fun and it made the game go really long since it is on a 7... We also played 7 player #Ninja Burger: Secret Ninja Death Touch Edition which is just goofy fun even if not the best game technically. I also ended up playing #Vindication for my second time and really enjoy it more each time I play it. There was always 2-3 games of #Terraforming Mars going on.

Sounds like a great weekend!

I'm going to be spending most of my Saturday proofing a rule book and components. If I have time for games, I'm hoping to bust out #Reavers of Midgard, #Root, or #Altiplano. Chances are we'll just play a classic card game Sunday night with the in-laws though.

Have you played #Orléans? Quacks really got me interested in bag-building and made me look into #Altiplano and #Orléans quite a bit. If you've played both, I was curious what your thoughts are on the two. Hope you got in some games you wanted to play :)

I have played Orleans, but only once so it’s more difficult for me to compare the two. Personally, I think I prefer Altiplano, but I do recall Orleans being a lot of fun.

And we did end up playing #Mysterium tonight, so that was fun :)

I’m jealous that you are able to casually play games like that.

"Hoping" being the key word. My wife will play pretty much anything, although Reavers will probably be one she enjoys most out of those I mentioned. But, like I said, we'll probably end up playing card games. Fun, yes, but not exactly what I want haha

I have #PARKS and have played a few times with 4 people.  I find it works best the more people you have.  I played a couple times with just my wife, but there is less take that and blocking with only 2 - and we found we'd rather play something else.

Ok, that's good to know. Just trying it out to see if it'll be worth it for us to get our own copy.

Play D&D with friends;  Maybe play some Gloomhaven; Trade Stone Age for Architects of the West Kingdom; Look for Clans of Caledonia in the mail; Play Marvel Champions with friends; Possibly squeeze in a game of Sierra West.

Supporter8 months ago

Lots of great games mentioned! I'm still trying to hold back on getting Marvel Champions until the end of the year. Gotta exercise moderation...

I'll be playing Architects tomorrow as well and really curious how it'll go.

Supporter8 months ago

sounds like a fun weekend

Supporter8 months ago

That sounds awesome!  Stone Age for Architects seems like a great trade.

All this weekend? Wow!

I'm driving back home from a week in Honduras. I'll probably need to spend the weekend recovering and doing bookwork, though I hope I can fit in a session of #Star Trek: Frontiers on Sunday afternoon.

Supporter8 months ago

Hope you manage to squeeze in a session :D

(I believe #Root has been delivered)

Supporter8 months ago

Great, I'll need to check it with my renter see if it was delivered.

Nice! My friend's copy of #Root is on its way, so I should be playing that in the coming weeks! My gaming plans for the weekend are a quest(?) in #Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd Edition. A group of us has been slowly making our way through a campaign for the past...almost 2 years, haha. We've probably had 5 sessions of it total. I don't think our group is especially into campaign games, but it's fun.

Supporter8 months ago

Will that be your first time playing Root then?

Yep!

Supporter8 months ago

That sounds fun!

Hope it is!
