Having played all by Reef...I went with Reef. :)

With the talk of Oath it might be worthwhile looking at Root.

I think Ascension is hidden gem. Most people, including myself, lost interest in it before Rise of Vigil came out. Since then every new version just builds, adds, tweeks new mechanics that change the way each set is played. Simple to teach.

As a fan of Dominion I quickly latched onto Ascension because it feels like the natural progression of the deck building genre without deviating too far from it. I've got a good friend that we can bust through games in the base edition in under 10 minutes at this point because we've played so much! What a blast.

I'm fond of Black Angel. It's worth mentioning the meaning of Spes, if you do.

Someone mentioned it when discussing the rulebook on Twitter, if I recall correctly. It was the same discussion where the other thematic elements that were left out were mentioned. Like the extra dice from extra cycles being devoted to processing.

Interesting. Thanks for that other tidbit as well.
Great resource! I didn't know about that!

Black Angel seems to be the most interesting to me!
We talk about board games here. Games like Codenames, Catan, Root, and all your favorites. Posts can link directly to games and everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
