Unpopular Opinion: I don't like 7 Wonders

It might be that I'm just burnt out on it but drafting as the entire game mechanic isn't fun anymore. I did play a lot of limited when I was more into MTG which made drafting feel very purposeful compared to 7 Wonders.

When I initially got the game about 5 years ago I played it a ton, but at this point I'm not really interested in it, Sushi Go, or other drafting only games.

I think they could have done the cards better in 7 Wonders. I always forget which buildings I can get for free. And for some reason, I always forget you can't build the same named building twice.

There, you said it, Sushi Go for the win.I totally understand your opinion about 7Wonders. It's not the drafting that makes it dull, i love drafting mechanics. In 7Wonders it's just too much.

I will be honest I’ve only played this once at the UKgamesEXPO and I won, and I have no idea how. It kind of put me off deck building games

It's definitely the type of game you need to play a few times to get a feel for the strategy.

I like the strategy elements of drafting games. Trying to pick your lane, seeing if you can grab a card hoping that you want will come back around, and trying to read the mind of the other players.

There's certainly strategy to drafting. I think one thing in terms of the mechanic I think is un-fun is how bad hate-drafting is for you. I know there's a lot of gamers who don't like "take that" mechanics but if I have a good competitive group, it's fun to have ways to interact with each other.
