Valentine's Day

Not sure how everyone spends this day with their significant other, but I wanted to ask:

What would be the best way to prepare a board game night to put a smile on your spouse's (or SO's) face? Doesn't have to be over the top, but even a simple gesture of you caring for that person! Serious, fun, wacky ideas are all acceptable :D

Mine: I'd go for #Viticulture: Essential Edition. It was our first big hit, and it's easy to imagine what I could do to make it feel a little more special. I'd have a bottle of wine, candles lit, flowers off to the side, a cheese platter, and a relaxing music playing in the background. This game is one where a little bit of extra thought would go a long way!

Its my son's 9th birthday and he has 3 guys sleeping over at our house so games are mostly a no go.  I did get to place two rounds a Dice Throne with a gaming buddy who lives down the street.

Unfortunately I have a meeting tonight. I'm hoping I can get home early and have a romantic evening, but I'm afraid my meeting might go late.

I love this.  Although it makes me nervous because I'm pretty sure I did Valentine's version of Viticulture with my gaming group a couple of months ago.  Haha!

With flowers too? xD

Haha!  Okay, no flowers, and probably no candles.  But it's mostly the same.

But was there cheese?

sdirrane Supporter5 days ago | 1 point[-]

Yes, cheese and crackers and three different types of wine (red, white, and a rose).

And mix up the white and red on the spot! I wonder how that would taste...

Well, a board game night would definitely be for me, haha. But in the spirit of the exercise, if we had a nice charcuterie spread to munch on while we ate, and maybe one of her favorite cocktails, followed by an activity of her choice that she enjoys more than board games, haha. Probably watching Parks and Rec and snuggling on the couch, lol.

Board game night would be one of my wife’s least favorite activities. Sad!

Ha, I heard that.
