I didn't get much in but managed to get games of #Samurai and #Sky Dollars late Sunday afternoon.

Supporter10 months ago

Huh.... Never heard of sky dollars... What's it like?

It's a simple card game of play different sized passenger planes, filling them with passengers, and playing various hazards to keep your opponents' planes from taking off.

I'll have my review up tomorrow night!

Looking forward to it.

Played Viticulture with #Tuscany: Essential Edition last night with my wife. I was wondering how I would feel about the game now that I've played several other solid euros (it had been about 2 months since we last played). And the verdict is: it's still great! And the awesome part is that we haven't even played with two other modules that come with the expansion--the special workers and structures.

It's so good with Tuscany.  Have you looked into #Visitors from the Rhine Valley?

Owner10 months ago

Haven't gotten it yet but I know we'll be getting it in the near future. I was reading through the descriptions of the other Tuscany additions besides the board and will be throwing in the special workers for our next play. This game's not getting stale anytime soon haha

I really love having that option.  Although I think there are a few that my group flipped to play with and decided they weren't for us.  But it's still really really fun.  I still haven't tried the Structures.

How's Ante Up?  I just have the base game.

Premium User10 months ago

I liked it!  I have only played once with and once without mind you.  I think it added just a little bit more to it and rounded it up nicely

Have you ever had someone just try to play the mine and deposit game the whole time?  I think we've been able to stop someone from doing it, but I think if you figure out your timing you could do that easily.  It's the only part of the game I don't love or I think needs a rules revision.

I've only played the two games so obviously my thoughts are based on limited experience.

In the second game we had someone mine a lot.  It was definitely pretty effective, especially after he got the mule.  He played wanted as he'd deposit his nuggets and then rob the bank!

However, he came in second to my Marshal/gambler.  (I intended Marshal and gambler just sort of happened when I had some amazing cards and won 3 games in a row on other peoples turns.)

However, I can see how being a miner could be super effective...IF everyone else at the table leaves them alone.  Since the miner was wanted we had the Sheriff on him all the time and most players took at least one shot at him to try to take his gold.

If you wanted to slow miners down you could perhaps make claim jumpers take an extra action to fight or something but I really think it is a table dependent solution.

In a way it makes sense and encourages wanted play.  Rich people running around are bound to be preyed upon.

Once again, I got in a game of #Tiny Epic Tactics - Featuring a 3D Environment with the Wasteland map. It was brilliantly tight, but I squeaked out a win. I really do love this game multiplayer.

Supporter10 months ago

I still haven't had the chance to try it multiplayer, but I'm glad you're loving it.  It gives me hope that when I get around to it I'll love it.

I hope you get to try it multiplayer soon. It really is night and day different.

I've got a retreat coming up and plan on playing games during most of the weekend.  I'll be bringing this along so I hope we'll get it out at some point.

I got to play several last week.  I played the new Azul Summer Pavillion, Golem edition of Century Spice Road, and Lanterns.

Premium User10 months ago

I like that Golem edition a lot.

The crystals were definitely pretty to play with instead of the usual spice cubes!

Got in my first two plays of #The Reckoners Board Game

I’m not entirely sure what I think of it yet. I really like the books it is based on but I’m not so sure I like the game.

The books are so good! I don't think the game is as good as the books, but I do like the game. I was up and down with it at first, but I've solidified my feelings as I really like it. I find I like it better with a full player count--and on higher difficulty.
