Interesting. I was hoping for a newer system than Raiders, but I like that game and I like this art style SOOOO much more. thanks for the vid!

Yeah, it won't be on my wish list because it looks too similar for me. I actually think I prefer the board of Raiders more. I'm not the biggest fan of games that are better versions of the old ones if I have the older game already.

I feel the same. But I have to admit the new theme really draws me since its so fresh.
Oh yeah, the theme is really cool. I feel like they could have used the theme for a new game with new mechanics, because I'm definitely drawn to the theme. But when you have to be extremely discerning when purchasing games you can't buy a game that's essentially the same. Even some of the mechanics I saw are part of the Raiders of the North Sea Expansions.
I totally agree, I always have a little disappointment creep in when I learn that.
It makes me wonder if I need to try to unload Raiders of the North Sea and get this instead.
If you have all of the expansions, it seems like you can have a very similar experience!

When you finish a game design, its just a snapshot in time where you thinking about it was captured. You still think "oh that could be better" years after its in the wild.

So you're saying this is the Star Wars Special Edition of Raiders of the North Sea? :-)

The fact that there are no planned expansions to 'fix' the game appeals to me. We need more games that are just self-contained in one box. I prefer a more slim and refined experience than bloated with expansion mechanics

I haven't played #Raiders of the North Sea, and I'm not super likely too. But, I could see myself getting this.

I think I'm in the same boat as the theme is fresh and the artwork is more aligned with my tastes.
Theme is fresher,,,,, that is true.
Vikings get done a lot.But i'm struggling to think of another Scythian focused game.
Not even #scythe....
If you've never played #Raiders of the North Sea but are interested in it, I'd think this is the best way to play the mechanics of it. It's basically Raiders and expansion distilled into it's purest form.
OOOH I've been waiting for this one to come out. So I assume that the solo deck is included in the box this time around? Also, are they planning to work on expansions at all or will it entirely depend on the reception?
As much as I like Mico's artwork, this is quite a nice cleaned up version. Definitely better than my first impressions. And I adore variable player powers in games.
Solo deck - Yes
Expansions - no plans at this stage.
The art style and theme for this one is instantly incredibly appealing. Gameplay seems much tighter and improved over North Sea.
Can Garphill do a Roman themed game? Please?
Hahahahahaha...... oh wow...... Um...... stay tuned?
Ah yep, its on here, but not much to show yet. https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/304783/hadrians-wall
Right after reading J's comment, I was thinking of tagging you and @Marshwiggle92 haha
Cool beans. I didn't know that.
Bobby Hill has designed the game, and hes a friend of mine. We worked together at DOC, so he showed me some early versions. Its a "roll and write" type game. But one on crack. Its quite mighty
Is this going to be a kickstarter game?
When I click to the game page, I see that it's already available for pre-order
No KS. Pre-order direct first, then to stores.
