I've definitely had "No Drinks on the Table" rules. I've watched my kids like hawks when it comes to small components. I definitely baby my games to a point. Especially when their new. Maybe not to this extent but I'm guilty of having this same attitude.

my goodness i saw it coming cause but in my brain i was thinking "if i'm playing a new $60 game theres no way drinks are at that table!!!!"

Also, I definitely baby new games at first because of the money invested in them. I also have a brand new board game table that I baby lol
