I'm planning on organizing a hackathon to promote the new BGA API and help modernize the Board Gaming hobby.

I'm in the stage of organizing the event and working on gathering judges and sponsors. I'm trying to also make a list of suggested apps for people to work on if they cant think of an idea.

What app, feature, website, hardware hack would you want to see built for board gamers?

A modern phone app to record plays to BGA from the table would be great.

I agree!

An app implementation for the site as a whole would also increase my site engagement from once every few days to multiple times per day.

That said, the site does look great on mobile.

Oops; accidentally deleted my previous comment ha.

This is rad! I will definitely be participating! I’ve been meaning to dive into mobile dev, and this is the perfect excuse to build an iOS app!

Swift has improved significantly so you’re in for a treat!

Great idea! A good goal for me would be better BGA integration for, i.e., actually displaying data from here, instead of just linking. :-)

Nice! I'm hoping for that to happen too!

A board game deals list would be cool since you've got so many stores connected.

An app to track who you lent a board game to would be interesting. You could take a picture of the game and it could add a note to the game in your collection about who borrowed the game and when. Also it would be nice if the app sent the person a reminder via text or email to return the game after a set time.

Haha, that'd be great. I wouldn't need to think about being passive aggressive if I want a game back but don't want to look like it's a big deal.

I think a board game version of camelcamelcamel would be cool. Extend it to show trending prices, prices that are below the norm, etc. Does your API give out the current prices of games at the various stores? Or does it store them historically? How often does it pull them? Etc.

Looking at the docs answered most of questions Yes it gives current prices.  No, it doesn't appear to store them historically.  And I'm not sure how often it pulls the prices, but they seem pretty current based on the updated_at timestamp.

Looks like you answered your question yourself. I do store historical prices though which started in September 2018. I don't have an API for it yet but could add one.
