Upcoming Kickstarter for New Reiner Knizia Game Tutankhamun - Facebook

Owner

Any Reiner Knizia fans here? (#The Quest for El Dorado, #Tigris & Euphrates, #Ra, #Lost Cities, etc)

I haven't played any of his games yet, but I wanted to share this upcoming Kickstarter that's a reimplementation of #Tutankhamen. It'll be a family friendly tile game and it's quite a looker!

I have only played Lost Cities and Tigris & Euphrates, but very different games and I am learning that Knizia games take time for me have my mind wrap around them. They are all fairly unique and mechanics can be very abstract but also very enticing!

The only one I've played so far is #Lost Cities, which I quite enjoy. Unfortunately my wife doesn't like it too much, haha. There are several of his games that I'd really like to try, though, so I'll definitely keep an eye on this one!

One of his games I'd like to try that doesn't seem to get much attention is #Blue Moon: City. I came across this in a Dice Tower list (I think from Zee), and it seems like a really fun, tactical, puzzley game. The only thing that's held me back, really, has been the aesthetics. I've seen numerous complaints that the colors are too similar, and that's a problem for this game.

I prefer Schotten Totten to Lost Cities, and you can give it a try with a Rage deck https://amzn.to/3hfEO5Z

which also lets you play a variety of other things.

Why do you like it better?

I don't like doing the scoring in Lost Cities. In Schotten Totten, you compete for columns, so you know right away when the game ends and who won.

Ha, that would probably appeal to my wife a little more, but I just think this kind of abstract card game is not her thing.
