More Video Interviews in the Pipeline

Supporter

Now that Trent has finished his interview with Jamey, I'm going to start actively reaching out to industry leaders for their interest in an interview.

Who should I reach out to? Who would you love to hear from? I'm at least going to reach out to some of the people I've interviewed in the past (Trent is actually in the middle of preparing for his interview with Jonathan Ying today).

I'd be interested in some of the people who have been around for a long time, people like Reiner Knizia, Uwe Rosenberg, Stefan Feld, Friedman Friese etc.... I'm very interested in what people like that think about how the hobby has changed from their perspective.

Also, I would love if you would interview Cole Wehrle and explore how history influences his game design.

They will definitely be tough to get (I've tried for my written interviews before) but I'll see what I can do! I agree that it would be awesome to hear their insights. For example, there was this interview I watched long time ago as a prep for my interview with Martin Wallace https://youtu.be/nQ8SiZgWmpk (I've already shared this link a few times in other threads). It was fascinating to hear Martin talk about how the conventions were like back in his times and other topics such as Kickstarter, how important aesthetics of a board game has become, etc.

Actually one more artist that came to mind for an interview would be Adrian Smith who did most of Blood Rage, Hate and other CMON games.

I was very pleased with the Jamey Stegmaier interview, he is a very personable dude! Keep up the good work Trent!

I really have liked the interviews that you've done with artists so I'd be down for more of those.

Others: Geoff Engelstein, Renegade Games

Renegade would be interesting.

Supporter11 months ago

Definitely! They always have something going on

Also, not the point, but they have great customer service.

Yes. Top notch!

Would love to hear from the Roxley and Capstone people. They've been doing some interesting stuff.

Supporter11 months ago

Very different publishers too so I'm sure that they'd have interesting perspectives... .ooh, maybe a designer roundtable?? Different takes on the same questions?

Supporter11 months ago

Round table would probably be hard but I would be all over that. Kind of like those Hollywood Insider videos with a bunch of directors, but with publishers/designers. It's far-fetched, but we can dream :)

Supporter11 months ago

Yes!! That would be great!

I second Roxley. I am in love with Brass so I would love to hear the develop side of it!

Supporter11 months ago

Agreed. I would love to hear some insight as to the development of Birmingham in particular.

I'd love to hear from Scott Almes and Michael Coe (Michael being CEO--I think--of Gamelyn Games).

Supporter11 months ago

I'd also love to hear from Scott Almes, though I've never played any of his games.

I second these!
