I am biased, but I think that #Fief: France 1429 is great with five and even greater with six.

And, of course, #Scythe may be the greatest five player game out there.

I don't even love Scythe, but it came to mind for me as well.

Oh man I'd love to play #Fief: France 1429... I love the theme and think it'd be so fun.

I do think you would like it.

I haven't played a ton of these..

I'd probably add #The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine to that list

This might be recency bias, but #Pax Pamir (Second Edition) would fall in line with this!

You know when yours is coming?

Mine should be arriving today :) I have a session scheduled for tomorrow!

Awesome!  I'm waiting to see when my FLGS gets it in.  So... I have no official tracking number.  I have to just check their Facebook page every day:

Better be ready to jet over there! I am curious how hard it will be to find a copy when they come in!

Supporter48 days ago

Oh thankfully I used my BGA win to preorder it so it'll be on hold for me. 👍🏼

That is good news! You have any plans to get a play in when you get it? Solo or multiplayer?

Supporter48 days ago

I have a game night coming up in a little over a week so if it gets here before that then hopefully we can try out then.

Very very good! I am getting a play in tonight :)

Can't wait to hear what you think.

Yay....

I don't have a shipping notification yet, and I'm going back to El Salvador tomorrow, Lord and health permitting..... So I don't think I'll get it in time to take back.

Oh no! So close!

I live pretty close to where the ship docked in Oregon so I think that is why it came so quickly...

It's no biggie. Our luggage is quite tight this round, so I'm not sure how many games I can take back anyway.

which games are you taking back for sure then??

Supporter48 days ago

I'm not sure, I ended up not going back today. There was a death in our church here in Kansas last night, so we are staying for the funeral. We will probably be going home next week, and we might have more luggage room, also I got a shipping notification for #Pax Pamir (Second Edition), yesterday, it's supposed to come weds, so I might get it yet.... 🤞

Oh man I am so sorry! Praying for you and your church!

So many but the general rule that works best is for me is:

if the playercount is >=5; I try to go for: (in that order of impact)

  • games with synchronous turns,
  • very short turns with only one action
  • strong co-op
  • Enough to think and plot when it's NOT your turn

lukily, many games have one or more of those boxes to tick

#5-Minute Dungeon immediately came to mine with your first and third points

Sidereal is outstanding at 5 or above

Great list! I should look into more of these.

Here are some from my collection, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for everyone. They are fantastic games though.

Sadly, #Century: Golem Edition is on my shelf of shame. I feel like if I could get that initial play in, it could become a regular option for one of my gaming groups.
