My Top 5 Music/Game Combinations

Supporter

I really love to create a whole experience when I'm playing a game including the right music.  There are some games that I've found some great playlists/genres to listen to while playing, but others I'm still working on.  I still haven't found anything I like to have on during #Root yet (if anyone has any ideas that would be great).  But here are the games that I have great background music for...

#Western Legends - I love putting on some old dive bar country when playing this game, 60's, 70's, and 80's country is the best.  Willie Nelson, Ernest Hubb, Hank Williams Jr.  I almost always start with "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" Main Title Song.

#Clans of Caledonia - I love having some Scotish Bagpipe music on with this game, but also plenty of Irish Music as well.  Even though it's in Scotland, Ireland and Scotland share some historical and cultural similiarities

#Viticulture: Essential Edition - There are a few "Italian Cafe" play lists on Spotify that pair (pun intended) perfecting with this game.  Really makes you feel like you're in Italy.

#Star Wars Imperial Assault - I mean duh.

#Scythe - Spotify has a few Scythe inspired playlists which is really cool so there are some great options there.

Does anyone have music they love with their board games?  Which games?  Which music?  Why do you love it?

I love playing music or background noises during games. Western themes during #Revolver , two straight hours of zombie noises really racquets up the tension in #Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game. We also played some traditional viking music during #878: Vikings - Invasions of England recently which is terrifying.

This sounds like a death metal band

For many people in history it literally was a "death metal band."

Awesome.  In one of my jobs we play a game called Zombie Tag and we always use the Stranger Things OST and it adds a great ambience for zombie themed things.

Nice, also very cool that you get to play Zombie Tag (which I assume is where when you get tagged you too become a 'zombie' trying to tag people) at work

Yeah.  I work with High Schoolers (part time) and we play there, but that's the jist.  The Zombies can't run though, but once they start having more players than the humans it gets ugly fast.

We used to play something similar but with nerf guns, was actually genuinely tense at times when this hoard of people making zombies sounds are hunting for you.

Awesome!  Yeah we have someone that the "humans" can use as weapons but unfortunately not nerf guns.  That would be really fun.

This sounds quite fun.
