BGA Feature #27 BGG Syncing Game Lists
I've finally gotten game lists to sync! Every 24 hours we'll check your Board Game Geek account (if you're connected to it) and sync up your game lists with your account! I'll be working on getting this sync functionality with plays, reviews, and images as well but at least the basics are going for now!

BGG users own their own data and can get it and use it however they want :) You can see it in section 5.C of their terms page.

Right, as a BGG user I myself have the ability to do what I will with my data, as I own it. But I don’t know that BGA, being a commercial entity has those same rights to the data. BGG’s API Terms of Use explicitly forbid commercial use for example (I don’t know if what you’re doing falls under that, but I’d assume so).
I really like that you guys exist, and that you’re trying to create your own thing here, but I don’t like this. It just feels a little underhanded to me, and actually dampens my enthusiasm on coming here a bit.
Just my two cents, take it as you will!

What?? That's awesome! Is there anything we need to "turn on" to make this work?

Check to see that you have set your BGG username. You can look inside BGG Import

While this is neat, is this not against the terms and conditions of their API use? I haven’t read them, but it just seems that as a direct competitor they wouldn’t be down for you using their data.
